What began as one man’s mission has transformed into a worldwide organization. To date, ISR has well over 800 documented cases of children using ISR’s survival swimming techniques to save themselves from drowning.

Infant Swimming Resource is the product of years of research and development in the areas of drowning prevention and aquatic survival instruction. Infant Swimming Resource is the first and only nationally recognized program striving to change this statistic.

Founded by Harvey Barnett, Ph.D., in 1966, ISR endeavored to put an end to a preventable tragedy…childhood drowning. Barnett witnessed the aftermath of this tragedy after a neighbor’s 9-month-old son reached the water alone. From that point on, Barnett vowed to do everything possible to ensure that Not One More Child Drowns.

Building Confidence

ISR Self-Rescue® lessons give children between the ages of 6 months & 6 years the skills to be comfortable and confident in the water.  Our goal is to teach children survival techniques in case they should  ever reach the water alone.

Drowning Is Preventable

Give your child the competence, confidence and skills of aquatic safety with Infant Swimming Resource's Self-Rescue program - the safest provider of survival swimming lessons for children 6 months to 6 years of age.

Saving Lives

ISR Self-Rescue® lessons have saved over 800 lives thus far. That means that over 800 families have been spared the tragedy of losing a child to drowning after putting their child through ISR lessons.
